Wabtec Corporation has announced a strategic partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers, bringing together two of the city’s most recognisable institutions in a collaboration focused on innovation, performance, and community pride.

The agreement reflects both organisations’ long-standing ties to the Pittsburgh region and will be visible to the Steelers’ national fanbase of more than 21 million – the third largest in the NFL.
A shared legacy in Pittsburgh
Wabtec, a global leader in rail technology and services, has been rooted in the Pittsburgh area for over 150 years. The company’s growth paralleled the city’s rise as an industrial hub, while the Steelers have become an enduring symbol of Pittsburgh’s identity and resilience.
“Partnering with the Pittsburgh Steelers is a natural extension of our deep roots in this region,” said Gautham Appaya, Wabtec’s Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer. “Together, we celebrate Pittsburgh’s proud legacy of innovation, adaptability, teamwork, and resilience – qualities that define both our organisations.”
Ryan Huzjak, Senior Vice President of Business Operations for the Steelers, added: “We’re excited to welcome Wabtec to the Steelers family. This partnership unites two historic Pittsburgh-born organisations that are recognised across the globe.”
Fan engagement and visibility
As a Proud Partner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wabtec branding and interactive displays will be introduced at Acrisure Stadium throughout the 2025 season. The company will also serve as the presenting sponsor of the Steelers’ weekly Power Play content series, which highlights standout moments from each game across the team’s widely followed social media channels.
Focus on STEM and community programmes
Beyond branding, the collaboration includes significant community initiatives. Wabtec will become a Co-Presenting Partner of Steelers STEM, a programme that encourages students across Western Pennsylvania to engage with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through both online and in-person activities. Since 2019, the initiative has reached more than 24,000 students.
In addition, Wabtec will support SteelHERS Social, an annual spring event at Acrisure Stadium connected to the Steelers’ Women of Steel initiative. Launched in 2023, the platform celebrates and empowers the team’s extensive female fanbase, one of the largest in the NFL.
Launching the partnership
The partnership will debut at the Steelers’ home opener on 14 September 2025, with further activations and community programmes to follow throughout the season.
