Vossloh Cogifer receives major contract by TSO

TSO (railway subsidiary of the NGE Group) /ETF (Eurovia Travaux Ferroviaires) and Vossloh Cogifer have signed a contract for the supply of fully equipped turnouts for the French South Europe Atlantic High-Speed Line (SEA HSL) as well as for the related servicing and maintenance yards. The contract is worth around €68 million. As leading European players in the field of track-laying and optimization of railway lines, TSO and its partner ETF are in charge of all aspects of constructing high-speed trackage for SEA HSL, including sourcing of the rails, turnouts, concrete sleepers, and fastening systems. “Points and crossings on high-speed lines are different from those on conventional ones,” says TSO Director Gilles Philibert. “Vossloh Cogifer’s tender met perfectly all our technical and logistical requirements. The offer was convincing not just in terms of price, but also because it reflected outstanding service capabilities. Partnering such an experienced supplier is a key factor in mitigating risks which are always at stake in a project of such scale and complexity like the SEA.”

Vossloh Cogifer and WiN MS join forces to present an innovative device

The two companies will promote a new device that assists those active in the railway sector fight cable theft, and reduce its consequences.
The benefits of this innovative device are multifaceted: The device can remotely localize in real-time the position and the length of any cut in a cable. This allows for a faster and more targeted response – the tracks’ return to service can be accelerated. Moreover the device is able to immediately alert the police at the time of theft or sabotage. Its existence acts therefore as a deterrent and compliments other preventive measures.
“The sensor developed by WiN MS which utilizes patented technologies licensed by CEA, a French government-funded technological research organization, interfaces with our remote monitoring equipment, allows us to provide a comprehensive solution: detection of the location of the cut and the transmission of information to maintenance and safety services,” says Thierry Bouin, Deputy Managing Director of Siema Applications, a subsidiary of Vossloh Cogifer.
