Union Pacific plans to invest USD 121.6 million to improve California’s transportation infrastructure. Under this project, UP will provide USD 104 million to maintain the railway infrastructure and USD 17.3 million to maintain bridges in the state.
Key projects planned in 2016 include USD 5.1 million to replace 37,277 rail ties on Galt – Stockton line, USD 5.8 million to replace almost 19 km of new rail on Fresno line and USD 5.2 million to replace 38,882 rail ties on Delano –Bakersfield line.
