Taiwan invites Germany to involve in rail projects

taiwan-ho-chen-tanDuring Taiwanese-German business meeting at InnoTrans 2016, the Taiwanese Minister of Transport, Ho Chen Ta, has offered the German rail industry the possibility of participating in rail infrastructure projects worth billions. The minister gave an assurance that, following the tendering process, the choice would be determined not only by the price but also by quality.
Ho Chen Ta stated that rail transport projects with a value of some EUR 17 billion were planned for the coming decade in Taiwan, and he is confident that German applicants would do well in tendering for this work. According to a director at the ministry, Lin Chi-Kuo, in 2016 his country had attained the objective set just under ten years previously of reducing travelling times between any two of the major cities to three and a half hours.
