Sinara Group to supply locomotives for the Cuban railways

Sinara-Cuba_e885d0fbb849c7a987c973e87745ddb1The Vice-Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Cuba Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz and the Chairman of the Board of Sinara Group, Dmitry Pumpyansky, signed an agreement for the supply of 75 shunting locomotives to the Cuban Union of Railways. The document provides for the execution of works on capital repair of earlier supplied Russian locomotives and the modernization of the locomotive depot, located in the city of Havana. The contract is concluded with the assistance of EXIAR agency, providing 100% coverage of the transaction. Eximbank will finance the project, Promsvyazbank and BICSA Bank (Cuba).
The order is divided in into 60 type TGM-8 and 15 type TGM-4 locomotives, which will be built at Lyudinovo locomotive works and delivered at a rate of 15 units per year.
The total contract amounts to more than EUR 168 million.
According to the CEO of the holding STM Eugene Gritsenko, the prototype locomotive series TGM8 KM will be presented to the customer no later than 30 May 2017, the entire holding in the next year will put 15 Cuban railways locomotives.
