Siemens unveils its new commuter train-Mireo

Mireo – die neue Regional- und Commuter-Plattform für den NahSiemens will present at InnoTrans 2016 its new commuter train, Mireo, that intelligently combines the cost-effectiveness with sustainability, to provide operators with maximum added value.
Within the InnoTrans, Siemens will officially launch the new train generation for sustainable urban and regional mobility services.
With new Mireo, Siemens has adopted an uncompromising flexibility concept, installing components only in the underfloor and on the roof to the greatest possible extent and maximum capacity thanks to more seats in the same length train. Siemens uses the “empty tube principle” that reduces the conversion and cleaning costs and also leaves the operator with a lot of utilization and configuration options.
The passenger capacity is facilitated through different car body lengths and train configurations (2- to 7-part trainset possible, ~ 50–140 m), and the entrance heights are between 600 and 800 mm that can be subsequently adapted, extremely easy to clean, easy to convert.
