Serbia launches tender on electric freight locomotives

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development announced that the rail freight operator of Serbia, Srbija Kargo, intends to use bank’s financing for the acquisition of rolling stock.
The tender involves the purchase of 8 three-system electric locomotives for freight trains traction, including training of staff for their use and maintenance, with the delivery of special tools, testing devices and spare parts.
The tender is open to companies from any country.
To be qualified for the award of a contract tenderers must have an average annual turnover, within the last 5 years, in the amount of EUR 80 million. Under the qualification criteria, the tenderer has to prove that, in the last 5 years, it has supplied – manufactured not less than 5 vehicles, designed in accordance with the standards and regulations defined in the Tender Documents, fulfilling the 4 requirements: supply voltages: multi-voltage (three and more) but must include 25kV; drive unit shall be with three-phase asynchronous motors and installed regenerative electric-dynamic brake;  gauge according to UIC 505-1; and track gauge of 1435mm.
The tenderers’ first stage of technical proposals must be delivered until August 10, 2017.
