Sapphire wins another contract for Chengdu metro

Sapphire’s subsidiary, Ranken Railway Construction Group has won three new rail transit contracts with a total value of USD 57 million for Chengdu metro Line 18.
The main contracts involve the construction of two tunnels with a total slength of 3 km between Fuzhou Road station and Xinglong Station and certain open cut earthworks along the metro line, worth approximately USD 52 million.
Another contract has a value of USD 5 million and involves the deliver of supervise serviceson the line’s second phase, spanning 25 km of tracks, from Sancha station to Terminal 1 and 2 of Tianfu International Airport station.
All the contracts will be completed between 2018 and 2020.
“Whilst there has recently been news about halting major infrastructure projects in China’s smaller towns, Ranken continues to win major jobs in the main cities,” Teh Wing Kwan, Group CEO and Managing Director of Sapphire said.
For Chengdu Metro, Ranken has previously secured contracts for Line 8 and Line 17.
