RZD to start the reconstruction of another Far East rail station

Russian Railways, RZD, will start this summer the reconstruction of Ulan-Ude station, situated on Far East rail network. Works include the redevelopment of the station and its area, the construction of a rest room and a library. The station will be fully adapted for people with limited mobility allowing them to travel on their own to any station platform.
Large-scale works are planned within the framework of the security on the station complex and the engineering systems will be connected to the integrated comprehensive security system.
“We take into account the views of all participants in the process, putting in first place the needs of our core customers. The station will be renovated, and equipped with modern information systems for passengers,” Vitaly Votolevsky, the Head of Railway Stations Directorate, a branch of Russian Railways.
