RZD and Amsted Rail sign letter of intent on scientific and technical cooperation

The letter was signed on 25 September 2014 at InnoTrans, an international specialised exhibition of transport equipment being held in the German capital Berlin.
The document envisages cooperation between the parties to develop innovative rolling stock, in particular, with increased load capacity. Their mutual interests include developing, testing, manufacturing, servicing and maintaining rolling stock, standardising railway equipment and unifying its units and components and harmonising the technical standards relating to the manufacture, maintenance and servicing of the equipment.
In addition, the parties have expressed interest in the mass introduction of cutting edge technology in the design of the rolling stock operated, including axle equipment and cassette bearings, across the entire 1520 mm broad gauge railway network.
