The shipping companies in Romania and Germany turn into account the potential, scope and experience of the group’s railway transport and logistics operators.

Grup Feroviar Român, Grampet Group’s most important company, is the biggest private rail transport operator in Romania which has managed to expand its activity beyond the country’s borders, thus becoming one of the most important regional players in the area.
GFR provides national and international railway services and related services tailored to the needs of its customers: railway freight transport, wagon shunting services on industrial platforms, periodical repairs and current maintenance of rail lines, freight cars and locomotive leasing, railway logistics services.
GFR holds a significant share in the Romanian railway transport market being the second railway freight transport operator after the state-owned company. Currently, the company manages a fleet of around 400 locomotives and 15000 freight cars. Among GFR’s most important customers leasing companies in the oil and gas industry, as well as automotive, steel and cement.

Electroputere VFU Pașcani, part of Grampet Group, has dealt with design, construction, modernization and repair of freight wagons, passenger coaches, trams and Multiple Units, as well as the manufacturing of spare parts for rolling stock industry. With an experience of more than 140 years Electroputere VFU Pașcani has an innovating attitude in the field of rolling stock and had become leader on the Romanian market in the area of modernization of passenger coaches.

The first Romanian-built locomotive manufactured in Craiova by Electroputere VFU after 25 years was presented at the largest railway trade fair InnoTrans 2014. The Terra Nova locomotive, developed in partnership with the American giant Caterpillar Inc., features many technological innovations which offer this vehicle a special statute in the railway industry. The locomotive is equipped with two diesel engines, manufactured by Caterpillar, two integral transmission systems with four wheelsets and two gear boxes. The two engines meet the standards of the III B stage for rail vehicles with polluting emissions.

Another important project the eco-friendly locomotive engine, which operates exclusively on biodiesel or vegetable oil with no diesel added and has the same power and capacities as a diesel engine has been developed by the Romanian companies Reloc – Electroputere VFU Craiova. The research project is unique in Romania and enables the diesel engine to run based exclusively on biodiesel (B100) or pure vegetable oil without other elements in the mix. This innovative technical solution was developed by the engineers within Reloc – Electroputere VFU Craiova for the Diesel locomotive 2100 HP, one of the most widespread Diesel locomotives in Romania, used both for passenger and rail freight transport.

Through its own companies and due to its possibilities of transport and manufacturing facilities, Grampet Group is able to offer a complete and complex solution to the market, quality, flexibility and fast responsiveness to client’s needs.
