Romania: the new metro Line 6 to be financend by emission certificates selling

L6For the financing of the Bucharest new metro Line 6 project (the line which will provide metro network connection to Henri Coanda Airport – Otopeni), the Romanian Government approved a Decree which will allow the emission certificates selling, assigned to Romania at European Union level.
In this regard, the Government modified the 115/2011 Decree on the establishment of institutional framework and Government’s authorization to launch the emission certificates tender.
The Romanian Ministry of Transport requested Government to place the Decree on its agenda.
Metro Line 6 will have a total length of 16 km, 19 stations and one depot for maintenance. Acquisition of 21 new metro trains is needed for the commissioning of this metro line. Moreover, Metro Line 6 will facilitate future access to the metro network of inhabitants of the town of Otopeni and the northern suburban area of the capital city
