New tender for a Rhine-Danube Corridor section in Romania

CFR SA, the Romanian rail infrastructure manager, has launched the tender for consultancy services on Brasov-Sighisoara section. The contract is estimated at RON 28.2 million, VAT excluded (EUR 6 million). The published announcement is aimed to select consultancy services for execution management and for checking the execution of construction works and installations for the project “Rehabilitation of Brasov – Simeria railway, a component of the Rhine-Danube Corridor for traffic at maximum speeds of 160 km/h, Brasov – Sighisoara section, subsections: 1 Brasov – Apata si 3 Cata – Sighisoara”.

The tender book and additional documentation could be obtained by 13 February 2018. The deadline for receiving bids or requests for participation is 20 February. Offers will be opened on 21 May. The attribution criterion will be set by analysing the best quality-cost report, thus the price of the submitted bid will weigh 40%, while the technical aspects will weigh 60%. Financing for this consultancy contract will come from non-reimbursable funds from the European Union (through the Connecting Europe Facility), as well as CFR’s own funds.

We recall that in August 2017, five companies submitted bids in the tender for the rehabilitation of the two sections, Brasov – Apata and Cata – Sighisoara. These works are estimated at RON 3.19 billion, VAT excluded (around EUR 700 million).
