Moscow opens new metro station

Kotelniki-metro-moscowMoscow launched a new metro station that already has relieved the load from several other metro stations. Head of the Department for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Maxim Liksutov reported on the changes in passenger traffic with the opening of the Kotelniki station on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line.
About 33,600 passengers entered its doors on the third day it was opened, on 23 September. The introduction of an additional five train sets per day kept the average passenger load at the current level.
At the same time, the number of passengers at the Kuzminki station decreased by 8,200 people (by 8.7 percent compared to 24 September 2014). At the Vykhino station passenger traffic went down by 5,200 (3.7 percent) and at Zhulebino by 7,000 (18 percent). Passenger traffic at the Lermontovsky Prospekt station increased by 700 people (2.5 percent).
