Lucknow Metro commercial operations set to start

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has started the metro train trials in full swing covering the entire stretch of about 8.5 km from Transport Nagar to Charbagh, which is scheduled for opening in March 2017.
During the trials, the interface of the metro train will be checked to ensure that there is no physical infringement with civil infrastructure during the movement of the train on the track and also testing of various subsystems of coaches shall be done.
“The response of the train at different speeds, braking of the train and the interconnection with the Operations Control Centre (OCC) will also be monitored during the trials. The behaviour of the track system and the Over Head Electrification (OHE) will be checked repeatedly,” the company’s officials said.
The Transport Nagar- Charbagh metro section consists in 8 elevated stations for which the civil works have been completed.
In December, Alstom has delivered ahead of schedule the first Metropolis trainset to Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC). Alstom was awarded a contract for about EUR 156 million by LMRC to provide 20 metro trainsets each of four cars along with Computer Based Train Control (CBTC) based Signaling system.
