Lahore authorities approved Metro Rail Transit System on the Orange Line in Lahore at the cost of Rs 162.628 billion (USD 2.57 billion).
A representative delegation of China Railways and Norinco International China had earliest this month met Lahore Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and discussed Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project. There was an agreement in the meeting regarding the project.
The chief minister said that the agreement with China over Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project augurs well. He said that Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project will result in speedy, comfortable and economical transport facilities to the citizens and will revolutionize transport system. The 27 km long Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project will be completed speedily and transparently while a high standard of construction will also be maintained. The 26 stations og this line will be constructed on the route of metro train.
