İzmir Metropolitan Municipality invited sealed tenders from contractors for the İzmir Light Rail Transit System – 4th stage construction works between F. Altay – Narlıdere Kaymakamlık. The tender is open to firms from all countries. The contract will be financed with a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The duration of works is 42 months.
Bidders must have an annual turnover for each year of the last five years of not less than EUR 120 million equivalent. Bidders also need to demonstrate successful experience as prime/main contractor in the execution of at least two contracts of not less than the equivalent of EUR 170 million of nature and complexity comparable to the proposed contract (metro construction, railway systems, funicular railway transportation systems) finished within the last ten years. Tenderers shall also demonstrate that within the last ten years they have performed at least 4 km of tunnelling works for railway systems.
A two stage tender procedure will be adopted. The First Stage tender will consist of a technical proposal only and a list of any deviations to the technical and commercial conditions set forth in the tender documents. Bidders who meet the qualification criteria will be invited to submit a Second Stage tender. The Second Stage tender will consist of an updated technical tender and the commercial tender.
The closing date for the First Stage tender is 20 December 2017.
