France and Turkey launch block train service

Block train Franta-Turcia_imagesThe block train service between France and Turkey was put into service and the first train arrived Derince on March 2. The train departed from Noisy, France on 24th of February, and completed the 2.808 km long route in 6 days. There are four departures every week in each direction. The block train which used to run between Turkey and Germany and now it will run to France also. The service is organized by Transfesa and DB Schenker Rail. This train is the first regular block train between Turkey and France. Last year, a couple of trials had been done regarding this service.
Spanish company Transfesa was acquired by DB a few years ago. Transfesa is running also regular block trains between Spain and Germany.
DB Schenker Rail had opened an office in Turkey for direct contact with Turkish customers. DB Schenker Rail is the operator of Ulusoy Logistics’ trailer trains.
