Ferrovie Nord Milano to become majority shareholder of LocoItalia

Italian public transport company Ferrovie Nord Milano (FNM), which operates in northern Italy, will acquire a 51% stake in rolling stock company LocoItalia.
LocoItalia has the objective of acquiring rolling stock and leasing it to operators. The stake is presently held by Genoa-based freight company FuoriMuro Servizi Portuali e Ferroviari, in which FNM acquired a 49% stake in March this year. FNM will take the stake via a EUR 3.174 million capital increase.
The operation is expected to be finalized in September. The other shareholders in LocoItalia will be Tenor with 24,5% and FuoriMuro with 24,5%. Ferrovie Nord Milano has the option to increase the stake to 70% in 2020 if the Genoa Port Authority renews FouriMuro’s contract to handle railway traffic in the port.
