Extra Russian funds allocated to build a railway bypassing Ukraine

Russian Prime-Minister, Dmitry Medvedev, signed a decree on the redistribution of unused state contributions to the authorized capital of Russian Railways, the local media informs.

Available funds amount to RUB 10 billion, (USD 174 million), which were intended to be used in 2017 for the modernization of Mezhdurechensk-Taishet railway line — the southern route of the Trans-Siberian Railway — will be allocated this year to the construction of a railway line Prokhorovka-Zhuravka-Chertkovo-Bataysk,  the so-called “Ukraine’s bypass”).

Also, the Prime-Minister instructed the Ministries of Transport and Finance of the Russian Federation to allocate RUB 10 billion for the completion of the project for the development of Mezhdurechensk-Taishet railway when drawing up the federal budget for 2018.
