Kapsch CarrierCom has been awarded by SŽDC the tender for another GSM-R project in the Czech Republic. Kapsch will install state-of-the-art technology on the 185 km rail transit corridor between the West-Bohemian cities Beroun, Plzeň and Cheb. The new line connects Prague with the West-Bohemian cities, ending at the German border and consists of two sections: Beroun – Plzeň (60 km) and Plzeň – Cheb – Germany (125 km). The project will be finished until Autumn 2016 and has a value of around 14.7 million euros.
