Croatia: Dugo Selo-Krizevci upgrade contract awarded again to local association

03-croatiaCroatian railway infrastructure operator HZ Infrastruktura upheld its decision to award the upgrade of the Dugo Selo–Krizevci rail route to a local consortium, comprising Dalekovod, DIV and Zagreb-Montaza. The company’s decision comes after the country’s public procurement regulator, DKOM, suspended the initial choice earlier this month, following an appeal lodged by the second-ranked bidder Austrian Swietelsky Baugesellschaft, and a consortium led by Spanish Comsa.
In October, HZ Infrastruktura choose this consortium to reconstruct an existing rail track and to construct a second track on the Dugo Selo–Krizevci rail route. Following a re-evaluation process, HZ has once again chosen the local consortium as the most favorable for the reconstruction project.
According to earlier announcements, works on the railway line should begin in early 2016 and are scheduled to be completed in September 2019.
