Bolivia and Paraguay sign agreement for bi-oceanic train

bolivia-paraguay_corredor_bioceanicoThe Bolivian and Paraguayan governments signed, on January 2nd, a Memorandum of Understanding in Asunción, and both countries committed themselves to a joint plan to carry out studies aimed at integrating Paraguayan territory into the bi-oceanic train.

The document was signed between the Ministers of Works of Bolivia and Paraguay, Milton Claros and Ramón Jiménez, respectively, in an event that was also attended by presidents Evo Morales (Bolivia) and Horacio Cartes (Paraguay).

Bolivia is currently pushing for the construction of a train that connects the Santos port of Brazil with the port of Ilo in Peru, through the Plurinational State (Bolivia).
With the Memorandum, Paraguay is expected to join the train with a connection from Puerto Carmelo Peralta to Roboré.
