Astana’s rail stations modernisation completed

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy announced that it has finished the repair works on some railway station in order to accommodate the transport demand under the international exhibition EXPO-2017.
The works carried out by the company included the stations of Astana, Almaty-1, Almaty-2, Kokshetau, Kurort-Borovoe and Karaganda.
“During repair works special attention is paid to safety requirements, provision of services and comfort to passengers,” said Abai Dosanov, deputy director of the railway station department of the Directorate mainline network of KTZ.
Since November 2016, measures have been taken to introduce the Concept for the organization of work of extra-class railway stations and first-class train stations. The document provides for the rational placement of service facilities, taking into account the flow of passengers, inspection equipment, the introduction of an approved procedure for the provision of services.
In June 1st, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has officially launched Astana’s new railway station, “Nurly Zhol”.
