Anotec gains RISQS approval to boost rail sector growth

Advanced coating specialist Anotec has been verified by the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS), marking a key step forward in its engagement with the UK rail sector.

Part of the Anochrome Group, Anotec said the certification strengthens its position as a trusted supplier to one of the most demanding industrial markets. RISQS is the official certification authority for the Great British rail industry, confirming suppliers’ compliance with standards of quality, safety and performance.

Anotec achieved RISQS verification following a detailed audit of its production and management systems, including assessments of environmental practices and operational control.

To mark the achievement, the Anochrome Group will host representatives from the UK Rail Research and Innovation Network (UKRRIN), the Rail Industry Association (RIA) and Network Rail later this month at its four UK operating sites in Walsall and Wolverhampton. Guests will be given a behind-the-scenes look at the group’s technologies and its commitment to sustainable innovation.

Steve Norman, Anochrome Group UK Divisional Director, said:

“Achieving RISQS approval is an important milestone for Anotec and for the wider Anochrome Group. It recognises the quality and reliability of our coating systems, as well as the skill and commitment of our people. As the rail industry continues to evolve, we are proud to stand alongside our customers and partners in delivering safer, more sustainable and longer-lasting solutions.”

Anotec has long been involved in the rail industry, coating components used in major infrastructure and rolling stock projects across the UK. Its processes have supported projects such as London Underground, where concrete fastenings coated with thermal diffusion technology are widely used.

The company’s rail technologies include zinc flake and duplex coating systems, as well as automated dip-spin and spray applications designed to extend component lifespan and reduce environmental impact.

Steve Norman added:

“This approval opens new opportunities within the rail supply chain, particularly as the sector looks for technologies that reduce environmental impact and extend the service life of critical components.”

The Anochrome Group supplies surface coating and metal finishing solutions to a range of markets, including automotive, construction, wind energy and petrochemical industries.
