Alstom will play a central role at Expo Ferroviaria 2025, Italy’s leading rail industry exhibition, taking place at Fiera Milano Rho from 30 September to 2 October.

At one of the largest stands at the fair (Hall 11, Stand M50), Alstom will present its latest technological solutions for trains, signalling, infrastructure, and maintenance, underlining its commitment to building a safer, more sustainable, and interconnected transport ecosystem across Europe.
Launch of Coradia Stream regional train
On 30 September at 12:45 pm, Alstom and Trenitalia will unveil the new Coradia Stream regional train at Trenord’s depot in Milan Fiorenza.
Designed specifically for the Italian market, the train can reach 200 km/h and offers capacity for 1,076 passengers and 16 bicycles. Combining speed, capacity, and sustainability, it aims to meet growing passenger demand for modern and efficient regional rail travel.
The launch event will be attended by institutional representatives, customers, and partners, highlighting the strategic significance of the new train for Italy’s regional transport.
Preview of smart derailment detector
Expo Ferroviaria will also mark the first public presentation of the Smart Derailment Detector (SDD). This innovative system can detect trailer unit deflections in real time, providing an additional layer of safety for freight operations.
The SDD is designed to improve reliability in rail freight transport, supporting the transition towards more sustainable logistics by reducing risks and enabling faster response to potential issues.
Knowledge exchange at “Alstom Talks”
Throughout the three-day exhibition, Alstom will host a series of sessions under the “Alstom Talks” programme. These will bring together experts, stakeholders, and institutional representatives to discuss the future of mobility.
Topics will include technological evolution, R&D, major projects, and the skills required to transform rail mobility. The sessions aim to encourage dialogue and the exchange of best practices to address sector-wide challenges.
