Alstom delivered Jazz train for Trenitalia

Coradia-Meridian-for-Trenitalia---800x320Alstom has delivered the new train Jazz to the Abruzzo region, at the Pescara railway station (Italy). This train is part of the 70 regional trains ordered by Trenitalia to Alstom in November 2012, among which four are intended for Abruzzo region. All the trains will be delivered by the end of 2015.
Jazz is the latest train coming from the Alstom’s Coradia Meridian range which is designed for regional operators in Southern Europe, mainly Italy. The EMU can run at a maximum speed of 160 km/h.  Its concentrated traction system with two motor bogies optimises the electrical braking capability of the train allowing energy consumption and brake wear to be reduced. It is an environmentally friendly train with a 95% rate of recyclability.
Coradia Meridian regional trains are designed and manufactured in Italy. Project development, most of the manufacturing as well as the certification, are done in Savigliano site in Cuneo.
